Food: In the Pacific Northwest: Nettles for health and allergies, nourishing foods. Everywhere: Anything newly emerging. look for nutrient rich and heart healthy foods, such as omega3 fatty acids, fermented foods and cultured dairy, and any raw organic produce you can find that is in good shape. Valentines? Passion fruit and dark chocolate! Cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, asparagus. For President's Day, try out one of the President's favorite foods. like George Washington's Fried Eggplant! January Seasonal Wisdom

Getting "ungrounded" is human. The seasons give you earth wisdom. They are always there for you.

Suggestions for January: Your Dreamtime Month

Plan and prepare for the year ahead. Be ambitious. Be gentle.

Food: Around the New Year try Scottish shortbread; the Celtic sun cakes to celebrate the return of the light. Eat 12 grapes at midnight any night in January and make 12 wishes for the new year. Put your Crockpot to use with root soups and nourishing stews. Later in the month, find a week or two for cleansing foods only!

Detox/cleanse for at least 2 weeks. Plant bare root dreams. Plant bare root trees. Intention. Reflection. Celebrate Martin Luther King with an act for civil rights. Face those interior projects. List 12 things you want to accomplish in 2012. Make a vision board. Celebrate personal and family roots. Robert Burns 253rd B-day - Celebrate Scotland!
